The Magical Circuit of Water: the biggest complex fountains in all over the world

Lima is now more attractive to peruvians and tourists all over the world. Since July 2007, a huge and fantastic display of beauty, technology, music and color takes place in the historical Parque de la Reserva (The Reserva Park). The Circuito Mágico del Agua (The Magic Circuit of Water) has marked a Guinness Record for being the biggest complex of fountains in a public park all around the world.

The Reserva Park was designed by the architecht Claude Sahut and by the first time it was inaugurated it many sculptures made by peruvian artists. The park construction was finished by 1929 and was named Parque de la Reserva (The Reserva Park) in honor of the reserve troops who took part in the defense of the city of Lima during the war with Chile in the Miraflores and San Juan de Miraflores battles.

Actually,The Magic Circuit of water became one of the biggest attractions in the city. i feel proud about having such a wonderful park in my hometown. It is a symbol of our life quality improvement and of modernity. Furthermore it has the Guinness Record as the biggest fountains' complex in the world and the highest fountain in a public park.

This circuit is a wonderful spectacle of "cybernetic" interactive fountains, where the water, light, music and images play perfect together. The technology here is one of the highest, which makes able to amazing choreographic displays, including laser effects.

The park is formed by 2 parks connected underground and has 13 fountains, each one with its own peculiarity:

1-Magic Fountain(Fuente Mágica): Majestic geyser of 246.062 feet high.

2-Fantasy (Fantasía): Linear fountain whose hydraulic elemnts dance in perfect synchrony with music and color. It is a display of beauty and probably the park’s main attraction. It has a show 3 showtimes per day: 7:15pm, 8:15pm and 9:30pm.

3-Illusion (Ilusión): in front of the General Sucre’s statue, it is a display of “big bubbles of illusion”.

4-Dome (Cúpula): You can get inside the display of water and never get wet.

5-Tangüis: Beautiful little fountains that change color and shape.

6-Harmony (Armonía): Pyramyd shaped fountain.

7-Rainbow (Arco Iris): Seems a rainbow shaped display of water.

8-Tunnel (Túnel): It is a semicircular shaped fountain where you can cross with your friends and/or family.

9-Maze (Laberinto): This is a lot of fun, specially in the summer time, because you can get inside the fountain and get thoroughly wet because of the underground system that splashes water from the floor. The trick is to guess where no water will come out, so you have to constantly change the position of your feet. This is the delight of everybody.

10-Life (Vida): Beautiful display of shape and color.

11-Traditions (Tradiciones): Monument and water display.

12-Wish Fountain (Fuente de los Deseos): Simply beautiful.

13- Children (Niños): Where children can play with water.

The extraordinary area, surrounded by magnificent trees and architecture, is a great choice that you won’t regret during your stay in Lima. I personally recommend to visit it around 5.00 or 6.00 pm because you can see the extraordinary display of lights, music and color.

If it's winter (from Juni to August), I'd recommend you to bring a jacket, since it can be a bit windy. In summer getting a bit wet is a blessing.
